About Channings FC

Formed from two halls of residence football teams (Clifton Hill House and Goldney), Channings Football Club began life in the University of Bristol Intramural League in 2003 under the guise of Roo Bar FC. The club’s 1st XI competed in Division One (second tier), while the 2nd XI scrapped it out in Division Four. Since the graduation of the majority of its members in 2005, Channings FC (as it became known in October 2004) has competed in ad-hoc friendly fixtures based around its annual summer tour.

In August 2006 Channings travelled to the south-west of England to play three fixtures in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. In September 2007 the squad sailed over to the Netherlands for three fixtures in the Amsterdam region. In September 2008, Channings have set their horizons yet further and are on tour in Berlin.
